Thoughtful Thursday & Navigating Faith Journeys

Hello friends!

It can be difficult when a loved one is struggling in their faith.

It can be tempting to make it about you.

I know that is what I did when some of my children began to step away from our family's faith tradition.

I believed that I failed as a mother.

I second guessed everything I did while they were growing up.

I judged them and me.

I was living in worry, disappointment, and sadness.

I was trying to control something that was out of my control.

Trying to get my children where I thought they should be.

Once I let go of trying to control the situation, I could focus on who I wanted to be.

To love as the Savior loves.

When I could focus on being a better reflection of the Savior in how I was showing up in the world, I could begin to release the chains of judgement and frustration.

Does it mean I don't feel sad sometimes?

Of course not.

I am human.

I allow myself times of sadness but I don't live there.

I remind myself that it is my job to love not to judge.

It is my job to show up as my best self.

In the end, I believe it will all work out.

In this week's podcast, I have a conversation with fellow life coach, Kayla Giles, on this very topic.

She shares what she calls the 4 P's
