Thoughtful Thursday & Happiness

ON THE BLOG

HAPPINESS

Hello friends!

Do you have someone in your life that you wish was different?

Do you believe that if they would just change then you could be happy?

I did.

For a long time, I wanted to change some of the people in my life.

But guess what?

It NEVER worked.

Trying to control other people or by trying to manage other people's emotions so that I could feel better just made me feel more and more frustrated and resentful.

This was such a hard place to be.

Waiting for other people to change in order to feel happy kept me wishing and waiting, and prevented me from really living as who I wanted to be.

I was choosing to give my agency away and believing that life was just happening to me instead of for me.

Once I really understood and accepted the idea that I didn't have to change a single person and I could still feel happy anyway, that's when my life changed.

I could begin focusing on who I wanted to be.

I could begin taking charge of my own emotional well-being.

I could begin living in the moment instead fighting against the past, resisting reality, and worrying about the future.

I could become the creator of my life experience.

The truth is, it isn't anyone's job to make me happy.

It's my job, which is the best news ever!

You don't have to wait for someone to change in order to be happy.

Happiness is available to you right now in this very moment.

 I promise.

The first step is letting go of the belief that other people need to change in order for you to be happy.

Happiness is a choice.

Have a joyful week!
