Thoughtful Thursday & Buffers
A few months ago, I was traveling when my phone broke, leaving me without one for 10 days.
Upon returning home, I got a new iPhone, but the iCloud data sync failed.
Consequently, I had to manually add each app, which was frustrating at first, but ultimately allowed me to select the ones I truly wanted.
Similarly, as humans, our Heavenly Parents provide us with desires and impulses to guide us through life, but we often add buffers over time to shield ourselves from emotional pain.
While these buffering behaviors and activities are not all inherently bad, they can hinder us from living a fulfilling life.
By confronting discomfort, we can begin to address the underlying problem.
We can choose to release behaviors that prevent us from becoming our true selves and living a joyful life.
It requires being honest with ourselves and deleting the buffers that are not really serving us.
We really can choose for ourselves what activities and behaviors help us be our best.
Then we can choose to let go of the rest.
Curiosity is the perfect place to start to inviting awareness and creating change.
We have to know where we are in order to get to where we are going.
Are there any behaviors that are holding you back from living your best life?
What emotions are you avoiding by doing those things and why?
Buffering away our pain doesn’t really make the pain just go away.
It just prolongs the pain and causes more problems down the road.
Is it time to start deleting some “apps” or buffers from your life?
What would they be?
How would your life be better without them?
