Thoughtful Thursday & A Thoughtful Pause

ON THE BLOG

A THOUGTHFUL PAUSE

Lately, I've been reflecting on the pace of my life, and I've been using the summer as an opportunity to embrace a slower, more intentional rhythm of living.

In a book club Iā€™m part of, I came across an acronym that beautifully captures this idea of slowing down: S.L.O.W.

  • S = Shift: Not an abrupt stop, but a gentle slowing down, like gears on a bike; a pivot to a calmer pace.

  • L = Linger: A reminder to pause, take your time, and be fully present in each moment.

  • O = Open Hands: To live expectantly and vulnerably, asking God, "What now?" with an open heart.

  • W = Watchful: To observe and be alert, staying mindful not to slip back into the hurry of daily life.

How can you apply this to your daily rhythm of living?

What does it look like for you to S.L.O.W. down?

Here's the book I am currently reading:  Live Slowly: A Gentle Invitation to Exhale by Jodi H. Grubbs
