Thoughtful Thursday & You Are A Good Mom

Hello friends!

This week on the podcast, I share a conversation I recently had with fellow life coach, Emily Wardrop.

We talked about the power of the word “and” as it applies to motherhood.

Have you ever forgot to buy milk at the grocery store?

Or were late picking up your child from school?

Or you yelled at your kids?

Or you were critical of your adult child?

We all show up sometimes not in the way we would like or fall short of our ideal.

But what we do next is where the real problem lies.

Many of us go straight to believing that something is wrong with us and that we are a bad mom.

I yelled at my kids.

I am such a bad mom.

I am so critical.

I am such a bad mom.

But these are lies.

You can forget milk and still be a good mom.

You can yell at our kids and still be a good mom.

It isn’t one or the other.

It is both.

We make mistakes AND we are good.

God is good which makes us inherently good.

It is in our DNA.

It is who we are.

You may not always do or say things that are in line with who you want to be AND you are a good person.

I invite you to include the “and” when you speak to yourself in those moments.

I forgot to pick up milk at the grocery store AND I am still a good mom.

I didn’t respond how I would have liked AND I am still a good person.

Drop the shame and embrace the good.
