Thoughtful Thursday & Fuel
This week on my podcast I share an interview I had with life coach, Caleb Price.
He calls himself βThe College Coach.β
He helps college students break up with their anxiety, perfectionism, and indecision to feel confident about their future and love their lives now!
It was such a fun conversation.
He shares a great story from when he was serving a mission in Italy for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One day he accidentally filled the missionary car he was using with diesel gas.
The young missionaries decided to just keep driving the car because it seemed to be working.
They figured that the gas would work its way out over time.
But as you would guess, the car eventually quit working.
This is such a great analogy for life.
You may be fueling your self with feelings of frustration and shame in hopes of creating positive change.
And it may work for a time.
But sooner or later it affects you.
You can never shame yourself enough to become who you want to be.
You end up burning out and breaking down.
It is so important to pay attention to what you are fueling yourself with.
How much farther could you go if you fueled your actions with self-compassion and love?
