Thoughtful Thursday & Freedom

ON THE BLOG

FREEDOM

Hello friends

This week, I taught a live workshop about how to feel better.

One of the things I talked about is understanding where emotions come from.

So many people believe that their emotions just happen to them because of things outside of themselves.

Believing they have no control over their emotions or blaming them on others.

That is such a disempowering place to be.

When I learned that my thoughts created my emotions, everything changed.

I no longer had to wait for others to change in order to be happy.

I no longer had to fight against my past, wishing it was different, so I could be happy.

I now know, my emotions are created by the thoughts I am thinking and that they are my responsibility.

This is the best news ever!

I get to be the creator of my own happiness, no matter my season or circumstance.

That doesn't mean I am going to be happy all of the time.

It isn't about just thinking happy thoughts.

Of course not.

Sometimes you want to feel sad, frustrated, or mad.

Sometimes you want to grieve or mourn.

But your emotions are your choice.

You get to decide what emotions you want to take action from.

Do you want to show up in your life from frustration, judgement, or resentment?

Or, do you want to show up in your life from love, curiosity, or compassion?

Our emotions are the fuel for the experiences we ultimately create in our life.

Taking responsibility for the emotions you are choosing brings freedom.

Freedom to explore the possibilities.

What do you want to choose?

Have a joyful week!
