Episode 133 - Seeking Diligently with Rachel Rhien Tucker

SPOTIFY | APPLE |YOUTUBE

In a world filled with distractions and constant busyness, finding moments to pause and reflect on our faith can be challenging. Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with Rachel Rean Tucker, an LDS writer, speaker, and faith-based life coach who has dedicated her life to helping people find healing and hope through Christ.

From Seminary Teacher to Social Media Ministry

Rachel's journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic when, like many others, she found herself searching for purpose during lockdown. A mother of four living in Southern California, she started taking long morning walks and writing. What started as a personal outlet soon transformed into a calling when she felt prompted to create a study guide for women.

"I felt really strongly that I needed to write," Rachel shares. "And I had some really specific promptings that I needed to create a study guide for women, like a six-week gospel topic study guide."

This initial project evolved into a daily devotional on Instagram (@seeking_diligently), where she's built a vibrant community of followers seeking spiritual connection. Her writing ministry has since expanded to include two published books with Cedar Fort Publishing, available through Deseret Book.

Discovering Divine Gifts Later in Life

One of Rachel's most powerful insights is that spiritual gifts can be discovered at any age. Her talent for writing and teaching didn't fully emerge until her mid-40s, after years of teaching early morning seminary.

"The Lord doesn't expect our lives to end when we're 48 or 49 or 50," Rachel emphasizes. "We have lots of life ahead of us and a lot to give. When we're a little more seasoned and we've had a little more life under our belts, it's so much more fulfilling and we have so much more to offer people."

Finding Hope in a Distracted World

As a faith-based life coach, Rachel works primarily with women facing various life challenges, from faith crises to empty nest syndrome. Her approach focuses on providing tools that invite the Spirit, healing, and hope.

"I think we need more hope," Rachel reflects. "I think one of the greatest battles we face is just the battle of distraction. Life is faster paced... we're not even necessarily distracted with things that are bad. They're not bad. They are just consuming."

The Power of the Atonement

Perhaps Rachel's most powerful message is about the universal applicability of Christ's Atonement. "Anything you have going on right now, any hard thing, any situation, even if it's your own lack of faith - the Savior can heal anything," she affirms.

She emphasizes the difference between believing in Christ and believing Him: "We can believe that He exists. We can believe that that power is possible maybe for somebody else. But when we shift that belief and say, 'No, I believe Him, I believe what He's saying, I believe that this is possible for me,' that's when miracles happen."
